14th Fajr Visual Arts Festival comes to an end

The 14th Fajr Visual Arts Festival wraps up honoring winners.

The 14th edition of the Fajr Visual Arts Festival has come to an end with honoring the winners.

The winners of the top awards in ten categories received their awards during the closing ceremony held at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall on Friday.

The ceremony was attended by the Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad-Mehdi Esmaeili.

The minister praised the organizers for holding the festival’s exhibitions for the first time across the country, adding “One of the advantages of this year’s festival was organizing its provincial exhibits, which represented the government’s cultural justice”.

“We saw a younger generation of artists beside the veteran artists in this edition of the festival, and if the festival seeks a stronger educational policy we can see a great number of promising young artists in the future,” Esmaeili added.

Paria Malmir won the Golden Tooba for best painting and the award in the Persian painting (miniature) category went to Hadi Faqihi.

The award for the best cartoonist was presented to Ehsan Cheraghi-Iranshahi and Nasrin Shapouri-Azari received the award for the best sculptor.

Mohammad-Reza Chitsaz, Mikaeel Barati and Sadeq Ili shared the Golden Tooba in the graphic design category.

The award for the best photographer went to Saber Qazi and the new arts section presented its top award to Elaheh Abdollahzadeh.

Mohammad-Reza Ravandeh and Maryam-Sadat Siadat won the awards for the best illustrator in the ceramics category and the best calligrapher award went to Mohammad-Fateh Natanzi.

The 14th edition of the Fajr Visual Arts Festival was held on February 4-19, 2022.
